Inspirations and Aspirations
Hey, hi, hello and welcome to my blog! “Incognito Imaginings” will be my think place of sorts where I will post my thoughts and summaries of my week. I’ve named it incognito imaginings because everything on this blog shall be kept strictly anonymous and because this blog is purely for the things going on in my head and imagination, anyways back to the point of this post. My goal in this post is to outline what I want to do on this blog and also show you what inspired me to make this blog, and what inspired me to keep it anonymous.
The thing, or rather the blog that inspired me to do this was something I stumbled across by complete chance by googling the words ‘random rants’. When I googled those words a link popped up to a blog titled Random Rants 08 and the creator of the blog made it purely for his opinions and his opinions alone and I found that so interesting, I found it so interesting that someone could have the courage to post something that was purely for themselves without worrying about what others would think of it in the slightest and so I thought “that sounds like an interesting idea, I think I’ll give it a go!” However, when I decided I wanted to try this I realised that there was no way I would be able to achieve that unless nobody actually knew it was me saying those things. Which sounds shallow and makes me seem like a terrible person for going and saying “as long as they don’t know I did it it’s alright,” but none of us are perfect and all of us are flawed so I guess that’s one of my flaws, worrying too much about the opinions of others. But yes, that was the inspiration that caused me to create this blog and there will be a link to the ‘random rants’ blog below this section of the post.
This section is actually the main point of this post; what I want to do with this blog and where I want it to go. I’ve compiled a list of goals I’m hoping to achieve and am planning on telling you about them here!
On this blog I’m hoping to upload weekly whenever possible, I’m only using this as a lose guideline and it probably won’t be permanent, as it’s just in place to help me get used to using this and getting in the swing of a regular upload schedule. At the start of every post I’m also hoping to include a weekly goal so that I can go about my day without getting too wrapped up in blogging and just lounging around and being lazy, hopefully this will make me more productive and give me more of a drive to achieve things because I’m sharing the goal with you guys so it’ll feel a lot worse if I’m lazy and don’t complete the goal. These goals are going to stay quite small so that they don’t put too much stress on me because my workload can become quite heavy sometimes and I don’t want half my goals to just be ‘finish your homework’ or ‘hand in that assignment on time’. Another thing I want to do is have something – it could be anything whether it’s a person or song or object – that I really like and have a little segment towards the end of every post called memorable mentions, I was wanting to do this so that I could become more appreciative of the things and people around me and of how lucky I am to be in such a wonderful part of the world! We’re already halfway through my list and for my next goal I want to have a summary of my week and how it was in each post, I’m thinking of calling this segment ‘striking situations!’ because it would consist of all of the notable situations that have occurred throughout my week. I figured this would be a fun way to document things and for you guys to get to know me! It would also give me something reliable and ongoing to talk about which is essential to my regular uploads goal. The next goal is a pretty easy and obvious one and that is to keep everything anonymous which is actually going to be harder said than done because I have a few friends whom are already on the site so hopefully they don’t figure out that it’s me (eek)! Last but not least is how long I want to keep this anonymous blog up for, I’m hoping to keep at it for a decent amount of time and right now I’m aiming to do it until at least the end of the year although that might be a bit of a stretch knowing how I am with commitment to things but hey the challenge of it is why it’s a goal so I’m going to stick with it! (For context to people in different timezones it is currently the sixth of April here so yeah, the year might end at a different time for you (If that’s how timezones work?) but I’m going off of the timezone I’m in and not one of the American ones or anything like that.
SIDENOTE: I’m not going to be carrying out any of these goals in this post as this was an introduction to them and these goals will be carried out in the posts after this one if I’m successful.
